Welcome
This web page is devoted to dancers
everywhere. If you are visiting this page it is probably because you are
a dancer who has competed in one or more of the dance events where I've served
as scorekeeper. Among these are:
-
Portland's Bridgetown Swing
-
Spokane's Monster Mash
-
Jay Byam's Summer Dance Camp
-
Jay Byam's New Years Camp
-
Pacific Rim
-
Dance America Seattle
-
Seattle's Easter Swing
-
Reno Dance Sensation
My Goals
My goals here are quite simple: I
want you, the competitor to be able to access all of the public placement data
AND judges scoring data that I accumulate at dance events where I serve as
scorekeeper. The website will be database driven so you will be able to
view your data in a variety of different ways. No
more pushing and shoving through the crowd to see your final scores or how you
were placed by the different judges. Just visit the site whenever you
feel the need for a good cry. Hah!
Note: Judges names will
not be displayed along their scores in order to protect the
judge's privacy.
You Can Help
As I develop this website I will need your
help in the following areas:
-
Let your fellow dancers know about the
website.
-
Check back often and provide constructive
feedback so I can tailor the site to meet your needs as a competitor.
-
Please let me know if you find your name
misspelled anywhere on the site. Also let me know if you find yourself
listed with different variations. For example if your name is Robert
Smith and you find that you competed as Bob Smith, let me know what name you
like to go by and I'll consolidate your records. That way when you click
on 'Bob Smith', all of your events will show up instead of only a few of
them. The same goes if you have had a name change due to marriage or some
other reason; let me know what name you prefer, and all of the variations of
your name that you find on the site and I'll consolidate your records.
-
Some Tips
Here are some tips that will make it easier
for me to give you accurate competition data:
-
Always register for competitions using
the same variation of your name.
-
Always print your name as neatly as
possible on your registration forms.
-
-
If your name isn't spelled correctly, or
more than one WSDC ID# has been assigned to different variations of your
name (because of marriage or registration desk errors) then please send them a
quick email WSDCPoints@adelphia.net
and ask them to make corrections.
-
Make a note of your WSDC ID#. LEARN
it, KNOW it, BE it.
-
Write your WSDC ID# on all competition
registration forms even if there isn't a place for it!!
