8/8/2006: It's been awhile since I've had a chance to do any development. I served as scorekeeper for Jay Byam's Summer Dance Camp 2006 and all data (except pro-ams) has been uploaded to the site.
I've also uploaded scoring data from Seattle's Easter Swing 2006.
I got rid of the bad link when I don't have a WSDC number for a competitor and have decided to display scoring data for the All-Stars divisions as we do publicly post that division after awards.
All those things I mentioned below that I still need to do, I still need to do....
6/22/2006: Well it's been almost a month since my last update to the site. I got an idea this month that it would be neat to make all of the WSDC# that are posted be links to the WSDC points registry so I implemented that and changed the look of how I am displaying dancer's names on prelim rounds. Much better I think.
I still need to get permission from the WSDC webmaster to link to their points registry page. The way that I'm doing it is unconventional but neccessary because of the way that webpage is designed. If the links disappear you will know why...
I still want to complete the finals pages to include all of the worksheet data so that the competitors can visually see how the relative placement calculations work.
I also still need to add a login page so that dancers above the advanced level can view their scoring data. Pro's, champions, and all-stars, please be patient, you are on my list.
I also want to add a new section to the navigational treeview on the left side of the page to display competitions by dancer name. You will be able to select a dancer's name and then select from a list of all of the events/comps/rounds that they've competed in -- where I've servered as scorekeeper.
Finally I want to start working backwards adding all of the previous dance events that I have on file. Currently the only event that I have loaded is Reno Dance Sensation 2006. This will be a big task.
5/30/2006: I've completed phase 1 of the page for displaying finals scores. Still to come is completing the rest of the scoring worksheet to look like what is posted at the event. After that I will probably either start adding additional events that I've scored in the past or work on allowing access to password protected pages.
5/27/2006: I've completed the Prelims page for couples comps. I still haven't worked on the password system; I think I will work on that when I've completed the page for displaying finals. Sound good? I also want to add a counter to each page so I can see how many hits I'm getting.
Next: Work on displaying Finals.
5/19/2006: I've completed the Jack & Jill Prelims page and blocked the upper divisions from being displayed until I can implement a password system. Whew! It looks pretty good but I'm sure it could benefit from somebody with some real design skills. Database is what I do best.
Next: I need to figure out some scheme to password protect the upper divisions. Creating a login screen shouldn't be a problem but deciding who to allow access and how to verify their identity is the tricky bit. I think I will consult with Gary Jobst on this.
5/15/2006: I've been working mostly on developing routines to import data from past dance events into a consolodated database on the web server. I've completed the work on that and I've imported all of the data from Reno Dance Sensation 2006. I'm currently working on displaying scoring and placement data for Jack & Jill Preliminary rounds. Check it out.
Next: I will Create a login page where champion level and above dancers can log in to view their competition data. Afterthat work on displaying Prelim Round data for couples dances like Strictly Swing and Classic Divisions.
5/6/2006: Added frames to site. worked on display of selected web pages in the right hand frame. Started Work on consolidating the Dancer and Judges data from all of the different events into one table with a single entry for each. This will take awhile.
Next: Work on display of preliminary round(s) scoring and placement data.

4/30/2006 Began work on site. Described website and website goals. Asked For Help. Offered Some Tips.
Next: Add a web page to list events. Start with Reno Dance Sensation 2006 and work backwards. Clicking on an event will bring up a list of Competitions at that event.
